Mexican multi-percussionist who has
passionately studied in depth a wide variety of
African-American instruments, rhythms and genres from the
beginning. His appetite for blending, creating sounds and
environments has led him to redesign and manufacture various
acoustic sound effects and he designs his custom drum sets
specifically for each project in which he participates.
He has played as a guest musician with soloists such as Diego
Torres, Tsekou Djiabate (percussionist for Omou Sangare),
Diego Verdaguer, “Los Amigos Invisibles”, Alejandro Sans, Pepe
Aguilar, etc.
As a percussionist for Pedro Kominik, Regina Orozco, Mamselle
Ruíz, Alejandra Robles and in projects such as Saravah (Diego
Avendaño), Tam-Bore, Tibwa, El Sindicato Tamborero, Konbit
& Sylvie Henry, “Chunun” by Alejandro Flores, Los Hi-Mes ,
"Tekómatl" (High Impact Percussions), Fúria percusiva
(Percussions from Brazil), and Ángeles Pacheco's Band, with
whom he has performed on stages such as the National
Auditorium, Metropólitan Theater, Mexico City Theater
(Esperanza Iris), Juárez Theater (Gto.), Salón 21, Carpa
Corona and international festivals such as Cumbre Tajín, Ollin
Kan, Mexico City Festival, VivaMadero Tamps Festival, Amado
Nervo and Afro-Caribbean Festival among others.
He has taught percussion classes and workshops at various
institutions such as: Fermatta 2006-2008, DIM 2008-2009,
Tiempo 2008-2011, Diploma in Brazilian Percussion in schools
such as: “Nelly Campobello” (2010, 2011, 2012); "Yamaha Music
Academy" (2012), etc. Among his teachers are: Edmario da
Purificaçao, José López, Eder da Rosa (Brazil), Carlos “Popis”
Tovar, Guillaume Peuget and Jorge Bautista.
