THE BEGINNING
The Antonio Caraveo Jazz Project was formed at the end of 2018
with the concern of playing jazz, in that first line-up it had
the participation of Ricardo Reyes on drums, Daniel Fiol on
alto saxophone and Jordan Sanchez on electric guitar. They
began with some jazz and Latin jazz standards, they began to
assemble their own material, then Loana Galván entered the
voice and arrangements of songs such as "When Vuelva a tu
Lado" and Ain´t No Sunshine came in, then Eprhaim Flores
entered on drums and Sebastián Ballesteros on Sax Tenor, and
at that moment it was decided to take the direction of playing
his own music and very sporadically arrangements of well-known
pieces.
FIRST ALBUM
In March 2020 they entered the "Cubetta" studio to record with
the engineer Juan Cubas, the debut album entitled "Mexican
Landscapes" inspired by the nature, peoples and legends of
Mexico, with 7 original songs and an arrangement "La Llorona",
which It is used as a reference for the Day of the Dead
Celebration. In Mexican Landscapes Sebastián Ballesteros
participated on tenor saxophone, Eprhaim Flores on drums,
Jordan Sanchez on electric guitar and Antonio Caraveo on
composition and electric bass. The Album "Paisajes Mexicanos"
was officially presented with a concert at the Raices Cultural
Center of CDMX in September 2020. And the official video of
"La Llorona" was presented with the realization of the
photographer Ernesto Flores and the performance of Angélica
Pimentel in the role of "La Llorona".
SECOND ALBUM
In October 2020 they began to record their second album
"Semper Brasil" with eight original songs inspired by the
nature and musical tradition and rhythms of the sister country
Brazil.
It featured the participation of Aristides Martinez on
pandeiro, cuica and other Brazilian percussions, Bruno Cruz
Petit on flute and saxophone, Eprhaim Flores on drums, Jordan
Sanchez on electric guitar and Antonio Caraveo on composition
and electric bass. Which will be presented in 2021.
FUTURE
In 2021 it is planned to record and present the third project
called “Caribe” inspired by the nature and music of the
Caribbean, and a fourth work called “Blue Tea” with references
to the history, literature and styles of North American jazz.
